Lisa Shapter was born on May 18, 1972.  She is an alumna of the Breadloaf Young Writers Conference and attended same school as Sarah Orne Jewett.  She has worked as an editor’s assistant for a major press, at several libraries, and has completed her apprenticeship to an antiquarian book dealer.  She lives in New England and is completing a series of novels set in an alternate history New England and another series about the colonization of the Milky Way galaxy.
