I am completely confused by the difference between Omnibus and Anthology. I put in a change on two listings “Storms of Victory” - http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?2963  &  “On Wings of Magic” - http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?2965 both by Andre Norton-  which you rejected and referred me to the rules page. Upon reading said rules, I am wondering why a rejection is warranted. On the Help:Screen:NewPub page it clearly states the an Omnibus – “contains multiple works that have previously been published independently”.  Clearly neither book contains works that have been previously published; therefore they should NOT qualify as an Omnibus. However if there is something that I am not understanding then the following title “Flight of Vengence” - http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?2964 needs to be changed from an Anthology to an Omnibus for like it’s two mates in the “Witch World: The Turning” series it consists of two short novels not previously published.

JHB

Greetings, Jay! Wondered when you would finally visit and fill in some Norton blanks. I'd really like to know where you got the name for the JHB initials! That one has bugged me for quite a while, but just couldn't find a name. --~ Bill, Bluesman 22:52, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Omnibus vs Anthology

Both publications that you want to change to Anthologies are properly classified as Omnibus. All the contents are novels, not short stories. This help page has the definitions/parameters that we use. It's a good page to start with as all the fields are covered. Welcome, again, and thanks for editing. --~ Bill, Bluesman 23:04, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
