Welcome!

Hello, LindaWolfConnors, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 18:15, 30 October 2020 (EDT)

Cover Images

Cover image uploading is a two step process. Once you have uploaded a cover to the wiki, you need to click on the image (so you get just the image), copy that URL, and then edit the publication to add the URL to the publication. So for Image:SRPHMR1997.jpg, you need to enter this URL, in Image URL field of The Seraphim Rising. I have taken care of this one.

We appreciate your submission & hope you will continue to contribute. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning so please check out the help links in the welcome message above. And let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 18:15, 30 October 2020 (EDT)

The Heavy Turbulence of 2009

Regarding this submission: Anthology and webzine doesn't seem to really match. I tried to find information about this publication (searched on title, editors, and authors), but wasn't able to. Can you please provide more more details on what this pub is? Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:20, 12 November 2020 (EST)

As there has been no response, I've had to reject this submission. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 21:36, 20 November 2020 (EST)

Synopsis

Hello,

Please look at the help page. The ones you just submitted ca be found verbatim online. So there are two possibilities:

  • You are the one who posted them originally. If this is the case, can you provide the original place where you posted them (As I am finding some of them in multiple places)?
  • You are copying them.

Both cases are permitted. However, if they are copied from somewhere, the source MUST be mentioned and quotes must be used. That includes the back covers of the books themselves, library descriptions and so on (see the link above). I will keep all of your submissions on hold until this is clarified. Thanks for submitting them and thanks for the understanding. In case they are copied, the fastest way to handle will be for you to cancel your current submissions and resend them with the correct attribution. Alternatively if you post here the sources for each of them one by one, I can approve and update the existing records. If we go this way and these are from the books themselves, we will need the publisher and format of the book you are getting these from for the note :) Annie 21:37, 12 November 2020 (EST)

I will keep putting these on hold until they are brought to policy :) If you do not know how to post a response: you can login in this Wiki with the same credentials that you use on the site. Then click on the link edit next to the title of this section and respond at the bottom. You can use ~~~~ to sign (or use the sign button at the top). Thanks! Annie 21:50, 12 November 2020 (EST)
