Phil Giunta was born in central New Jersey but grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His interest in technology earned him a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Saint Joseph's University. Since then, Phil has obtained both Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Cisco Certified Network Associate.

Phil's first novel, ''Testing the Prisoner'', debuted in March 2010 from Firebringer Press, but his venture into writing truly began in the early 90s when he began writing fan fiction based on characters from such shows as ''Star Trek'', ''Star Wars'', ''Indiana Jones'' and more. Phil considers fan fiction to be a wonderful training ground for aspiring writers.

His short stories appear in such anthologies as ''A Plague of Shadows'', ''Beach Nights'', ''Beach Pulp'', the ''ReDeus'' mythology series, and the ''Middle of Eternity'' speculative fiction series, which he created and edited for Firebringer Press. As a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group, Phil also penned stories and essays for ''Write Here, Write Now'', ''The Write Connections'', and ''Rewriting the Past'', three of the group’s annual anthologies.

In 1995, Phil was a top contestant in a writing contest sponsored by Farpoint, a long running science fiction convention in Maryland. During the con, he met Steven H. Wilson. Wilson is the founder of Farpoint, and a writer, director, producer and actor. Steven's Prometheus Radio Theatre has won both the Mark Time and Parsec awards. He has written for DC Comics ''Star Trek'' and ''Warlord'' series and is the author of ''Taken Liberty'', a tale from his award winning radio drama, ''The Arbiter Chronicles''. ''Taken Liberty'' was the first novel published under Steven's imprint, Firebringer Press.

Phil is currently working on the second draft of a science fiction novel while plotting his triumphant escape from the pressures of corporate America where he has been imprisoned for over twenty-five years.

In July 2012, Phil's short story about the Celtic gods, "There Be In Dreams No War" was included in an anthology called ''ReDeus: Divine Tales'' published by Crazy 8 Press. ReDeus was created by award winning writers Bob Greenberger, Paul Kupperberg, Aaron Rosenberg, and Steve Savile. The premise: What if all of the ancient gods of every Earth culture returned in 2012? Fast forward 20 years, what would life be like? This collection features stories set within those two decades.

Phil's second paranormal mystery novel, ''By Your Side'', is due to be released in February 2013 from Firebringer Press.  He is also serving as editor and contributor to anthology called ''Somewhere in the Middle of Eternity'' due out late 2013/early 2014 from Firebringer Press.
