I live in northern California of the U.S. and have been reading SF/fantasy for most of my life.

The user name is an abbreviation of "science fact to science fiction, via Arthur C. Clarke", a play on how I started reading spec-fic, around the age of 12.

In my local library I was reading books on space travel, including those by [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?17 Arthur C. Clarke], such as [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?192229 Voices from the Sky] and [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?292599 The Challenge of the Spaceship]. I then looked through the library card catalogue one day, for anything by Mr. Clarke, and found out he was also the author of "2001: A Space Odyssey". I then went to the SF section (somewhere I'd never gone before) and looked for it and found this and his other books, such as [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?255564 From the Ocean, From the Stars], read them enthusiastically, then started reading books by other SF authors. Later on, I started reading fantasy.

I still am interested in space travel -- go SpaceX.
