Author update

FYI, I accepted your update, but changed the legal name -- the format is "Lastname, Firstname Middlenames", so I edited it to conform. Thanks -- Mike Christie (talk) 12:26, 30 Jan 2007 (CST)

Rictus

Hi and thanks for submitting "Rictus Two"! I was about to approve the submission, but then I noticed that http://www.publication.com/aylad/paying3.htm claims that "Rictus" is "an online only publication". At this time the ISFDB doesn't catalog e-zines because of the difficulties with unambiguosly capturing their shifting contents. Is the submitted issue a dead tree version, perhaps from a time when the magazine was published on paper as opposed to electronically? Thanks! Ahasuerus 12:26, 1 Feb 2007 (CST)

Bill submitted this again and so I e-mailed him with a link to this page. Marc Kupper (talk) 02:53, 2 Feb 2007 (CST)
I'll try to reply to both of these, though I'm not sure I'm figuring out how to use the User talk function properly. We'll see. First, while it is certainly not impossible that "Rictus" is an online only pub NOW, the "Rictus" my story appeared in was definitely a hard-copy, saddle-stitched kind of publication. And I regret the two submissions. You will find that the first one is not as long as the second one; I inadvertently sent the send button early. Then, when I had no reply on that sending, I thought it didn't go through, so I went ahead and sent a "full" submission. Hope that helps and clarifies! Bill 06:55, 2 Feb 2007 (CST)
Thanks, Bill, that clears things up! I have approved the second submission and rejected the first one, so everything should be in sync now :) Also, FYI, you can always check the status of your recent submissions by selecting "My Recent Edits", "My Pending Edits" and "My Rejected Edits" in the navigation bar on the left hand side of the ISFDB's main page. Thanks! Ahasuerus 10:52, 2 Feb 2007 (CST)
Thank you Bill. As a FYI - it's not clear if the print and online versions of "Rictus" were ever related and at the moment www.rictus.com contains the note "i am not affiliated with any literary magazine, one or more of which appear to have previously lived at this address (www.rictus.com)" meaning that if ISFDB ever does catalogue eZine content we'll have to add a publication flag indicating that it's no longer available on-line and may not exist at all unless someone's archived a copy. Eulogy One

FYI, I have approved "Eulogy One", but changed the type of the two nonfiction pieces from "NONFICTION" to "ESSAY". We use the NONFICTION type for book length works and the ESSAY type for short nonfiction pieces and they are displayed differently by the software. Thanks! Ahasuerus 13:28, 1 Feb 2007 (CST)
