Welcome!

Hello, Uzerzero, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -DES Talk 06:34, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

First King of Shannara cover

To add a cover image to a`publication display, as you evidently wanted to do for First King of Shannara, you must get the actual full URL (http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/b/bd/FRSTKNGFSH1996.jpg in this case) and insert that in the "Image URL" field.

Also, ther is a "Side" parameter available for the CD1 template on the image page. Normally this defaults to "Side=Front", and so is omitted, but "Side=Back" is allowed.

Thank you for your contributions. Happy editing, and don't hesitate to ask for any assistance. -DES Talk 06:43, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the greetings, and the info on adding covers. Don't know why I thought the database would be using Wiki markup since they're clearly different... Uzerzero 22:13, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
If that's the worst mistake you make here., you'll be doing better than most. Again, welcome. -DES Talk 22:17, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Correction approved. -DES Talk 22:20, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

The Sword of Shannara changes

When you add notes to, or otherwise change, a primary verified publication, as you did with The Sword of Shannara the ISFDB standard is that you should notify the original verifier, unless s/he has asked not to be notified of certain types of changes. The user name of the verifier on the list of verifications at the bottom of the publication display links to that persons wiki user page. From there, click "discussion" to get to the person's user talk page.click the + tab near the tob to add a new section/thread to the page. Some users have special sub pages for such notes, if so the user will display a message with a link at the top of his or her user talk page, and possibly at the top of the user page as well. -DES Talk 07:14, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Whoops, I was looking at another publication of SoS which was unverified and got the two mixed up in my head. I've notified the verifier. Thanks for the heads up. Uzerzero 22:11, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
