Hello, TracyPoff, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Stonecreek 15:52, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Modifying data

Hello, I've approved some of your submissions that added data or modified notes for Primary Verified publications. Please remember that our etiquette requires you to eventually (it depends on their stated preference and their activity status) inform the PVs of such modifications. Thanks for contributing. Star Trek Trivia

Is [this] by any chance a Canadian edition? The only record we have uses Locus as a source with $2.25 [right for 1980] as the price. Sometimes Pocket would print from the US for sale in Canada and just change the price on the cover [it can often be distinguished as an overprint - slightly different font or the price is printed not quite straight]. Then again Locus often received promotional covers that bore a different price from the actual edition. Thanks! --~ Bill, Bluesman 19:05, 5 September 2017 (EDT)

Very possibly. The cover does state "Published in Canada" and "Covers printed in Canada", but inside it reads "Printed in the U.S.A." and "Published by Pocket Books New York". I initially took this to mean 'published simultaneously in Canada', but perhaps it is a Canadian publication which changed only the cover. --TracyPoff 19:25, 5 September 2017 (EDT)
Definitely a CDN printing. Pocket was one of the very few that printed covers in Canada and wrapped them on books printed in the US, which was probably the cheaper way to get around the regulations in effect at the time: "If you want to sell here, print here". The only one who 'cheated' until the regs were dropped was Ace. Most publishers would print all the covers in the US but the books were printed here. I'll add the 'C' to the price.
