Welcome!

Hello, Theoldspaceman, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!.--Dirk P Broer 12:35, 2 March 2020 (EST)

Nonfiction Books

I'm holding your current nonfiction submissions as they don't seem to fit our inclusion criteria. However, I know some other of your similar submissions were recently accepted. As such, I have started a discussion on our Community Portal about this so that we can come to a common agreement. You are welcome to provide your opinion at that discussion. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 13:46, 6 March 2020 (EST)

After discussion, I've rejected these publications and also removed the similar submissions that were recently accepted. Per our inclusion criteria, we only include a) nonfiction about genre fiction or b) nonfiction by significant genre authors (example Isaac Asimov). We used to have an exception for nonfiction that was reviewed in a genre publication, but this was subsequently removed. We still have records that need to be cleaned up so I realize that can lead someone to believe that similar works should be included, but the goal is to clean those up. Sorry for the hassle, I know adding those works took some time. -- JLaTondre (talk) 17:02, 7 March 2020 (EST)

Space Witch

With only 44 pages I have transformed this title to SHORTFICTION and the corresponding publication to a CHAPBOOK. Stonecreek 16:20, 3 April 2020 (EDT)

Karloff: The Life of Boris Karloff

I'm holding your submission of Karloff: The Life of Boris Karloff. This one seems borderline. While we do allow books about genre films, a biography of an actor seems to be stretching it to me. I can ask at ISFDB:Community Portal to see what the community feels, however. Let me know if you would like me to do that. -- JLaTondre (talk) 18:08, 13 April 2020 (EDT)

As there has been no response, I have rejected the submission. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 17:43, 15 April 2020 (EDT)

Parens

I approved your submissions *766929, 766930, 766053, 765406, 766928, 767089. But I didn't notice that you used {} on page numbers instead of []. I corrected each of them this time, but please try to remember to use the corrects parens in the future. Bob 12:26, 14 April 2020 (EDT)

It seems that some of these were accepted against the Rules of Acquisition. Please don't submit such items. It also seems that the parentheses were added without an actual foundation: there may be unpaginated pages, but it seems they are part of the page count. Please leave a comment within the next 24 hours. We need your comments! Thanks, Stonecreek 13:42, 14 April 2020 (EDT)
The nonfiction pieces on 'CETI', the seemingly paleohistoric title by Anne Terry White, and the nongenre novel by Peter Benchley were deleted.
If submitting new publications, please state in the note to the moderator why they should be eligible. Thanks, Stonecreek 01:53, 16 April 2020 (EDT)

Grizzly

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?767160; I added Neal Adams as cover artist, cover is the same as movie poster, mentioned many places online so I picked IMDB's trivia section for the movie as the source of the info. --Username (talk) 19:41, 7 December 2022 (EST)
