Charles Coleman Finlay's Wild Things

Just to let you know that I have approved the addition of Wild Things and then added its contents. Please take a look at the results to see if it matches your copy when you get a chance. Thanks! Ahasuerus 23:45, 27 Feb 2008 (CST)

Le Guin's "She Unnames Them"

In order to create a record for this story's publication in the New Yorker, you would have to use the "New Magazine" tool. Because this magazine is not considered a speculative fiction publication, a better approach to recording this first appearance of the story would be to place the information into the notes field of the title record. I'll do that and reject your submission. If you wish, you can still create a publication record for that one issue of New Yorker by using the "New Magazine" tool. In the title field you would record the name of the magazine followed by its date (in this case "New Yorker, January 21, 1985", and the editor of the magazine would go into the next field. Continue filling out as much info as you know about this one issue of the magazine. Then add Le Guin's story in the contents fields (page number of the story's title page, story title, and author). Thanks for you contribution. MHHutchins 05:43, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Actually for first appearances, entering non-genre magazines are perfectly acceptable and some of us prefer it. If you want a more complete description of the process, please visit Help:Entering_non-genre_magazines. Thanks for helping out! Kevin 00:20, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I agree with you, Kevin, but please read the first line of my comment. At no point did I tell Sunwin that entering non-genre magazines was unacceptable. I even went on to explain how to enter this particular issue. And as a new editor, he was also given an alternative. With more experience he'll be able to handle the more advanced areas of the database. We don't want to scare him away before he's had the chance to get his feet wet. :) MHHutchins 02:56, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Counterstrike

Regarding this submission: From the Goodreads' plot description, this does not sound like a speculative fiction book per the ISFDB definition. It sounds like a techno-thriller/political-thriller set in a future indistinguishable from the present. Am I missing something? Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 18:47, 8 December 2021 (EST)

As there has not been a response, I've had to reject this submission. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:45, 18 December 2021 (EST)
