Welcome!

Hello, Steveberman, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 15:12, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

The Touch of the Sea

I have accepted your submission of The Touch of the Sea, but I had to make a couple of corrections:

  • Binding: You entered "Paperback" for this field whereas we use a specific set of values. I changed it to "tp" (for trade paperback) based on the dimensions supplied by Amazon.
  • Price: The price should have the applicable currency symbol as we support books from multiple countries. I added "$" to the price.
  • Cover Image: We have a specific set of sites from which we have permission to link cover images. I changed the image link to Amazon.
  • Date: We like to be as specific as reasonable. I added the month based on Amazon's data.

The ISFDB has a number of conventions and it can take a bit to become familiar with all of them. I encourage you to read through the help (see links in welcome message above). Also, feel free to ask questions (either here in response to this or if a new topic you can post questions at the ISFDB:Help desk‎). We appreciate your contribution. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 15:13, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

In addition, the Amazon look inside shows three more stories. I have added those. -- JLaTondre (talk) 15:28, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
And I disambiguated the title of the introduction to parenthetically include the title of the work being introduced. This is the ISFDB standard for generically titled works. Thanks. Mhhutchins 15:55, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Silver Moon

Your submission to add this record was accepted, but several changes had to be made in order for it to conform to ISFDB standards:

  • Date was specified to 2012-05-20, based on the Amazon listing.
  • Binding was changed to "tp" which indicates a trade paperback.
  • Symbol ($) was added to the price field to indicate the proper currency.
  • You linked the URL of the google search for the cover image. Just link the Amazon URL of the image itself.
  • "The Women of Wolf's Point" is a title series, NOT a publication series, and as such should be entered into the title record after the publication has been created. It can not be added in the submission to create a publication record. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 15:20, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
