Welcome!

Hello, Smercer, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! MagicUnk 05:00, 24 August 2020 (EDT)

87 Bedford Historic Fantasy Anthology

Hello. First of all, apologies that it took so long to get to your submission. While I have accepted your submission, I had to make a couple of changes to conform to our standards:

  • When entering an Anthology, just enter the editor's name in the authors field as the software will know that for anthologies, authors really mean editors and thus will display accoringly (I've removed '(editors)' from the author's name)
  • I've moved page numbers to the notes, as page numbers for an ebook are quite meaningless (what with all the different formatting and whatnot...). For ebooks, we do not enter page numbers.
  • I've also removed page numbering from each individual title in the Contents section, and replaced them with an ordering (the piping symbol '|', followed with a sequence number) - same reason as above.
  • It is not allowed to link to cover art for sites we do not have permission from. I've therefore replaced the coverart with a link to Amazon.com's (as we do have permission to link to Amazon's pages) - and I've also added Amazon's ASIN while I was at it. If you prefer a different cover, you can always upload to the ISFDB database as well - let me know if you'd like me to help with that.
  • I've updated price from $5 to $4.99, as that's the price that both is on the publisher's website as well as on Amazon.com. We always record price (when USD) with cents included, so five USD is entered as $5.00.
  • Reading through the author's notes on the publisher's webpage, I've updated the name from Robert Mercer to Robert R. Mercer and Stephen R. Loftus-Mercer, as I feel that is more accurate (as you stated in the Author's note you've become a second author to your father's original work). Let me know if this would be incorrect/inaccurate (per the details in the publication). And I've added a note explaining the cover art piece is titled Forgotten Kingdoms II (I got that from Amazon's LookInside)

Have a look and let me know what you think (you can reply by clicking on the (edit) link to the right of the subject title).
Note that editing the ISFDB needs some getting used to. The links in the welcome message above are a good starting point. If you would have further questions, do head over to the help desk, or community portal. There are always some friendly moderators around that will gladly answer all of your questions.
