Linking to images

I accepted the submission updating the author data for Christopher Stasheff, but had to remove the link to the photo image. Unless we have explicit permission from a website, we can not deep link to an image held on another server. If you can obtain permission from the webmaster of the author's website, we will reconsider placing the link. Or if you are owner of the image, you can upload it to our server and link it to the author data. Thanks. Mhhutchins 05:33, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

The Averoigne Archives

Regarding this submission I understand that it was not supposed to be a paperback but were any copies created and sold? Because if they were, even if you did not plan to, they exist - and should become part of a bibliography site. We can add notes explaining the situation but if a book exists, it exists. We record any edition - regardless of permissions (and that includes a lot of "iffy" translations for example. Thanks for any clarification on the topic. Annie 18:28, 28 August 2019 (EDT)

Same ISBN is now offered at Amazon.ca as kindle.--Dirk P Broer 15:02, 3 September 2019 (EDT)

Cuentos de Averoigne

About your verified Cuentos de Averoigne. It needs all the translations to be varianted into their parents (find the story that is the original, make the Spanish one a variant of that ID; and while you are there, add the translator). I did it for one of the stories. Let me know if you want to try to do that on your own or if you want me to assist you :) Annie 19:41, 28 August 2019 (EDT)

Annie, I'm more than willing to link the Spanish version to their parent titles, but I can't for the life of me figure out how. If you can tell me how to do it (or at least point me to instructions), I can finish it up. Thanks!

Here is the "Annie's cheat sheet on translations" :)
Step 1: Find the original title. For the ones I did, this is the title that I need. Look at ID either in the right top corner or in the address bar. This one is 65375. Copy that number somewhere :)
Step 2: Go back to the Spanish title and look on the left menu. Locate the "Make This Title a Variant" link. It is under "Editing Tools:" - or copy paste and let the browse find it. Click on it. It will open a new page (for the one I am showing this for)
Step 3: Remember the number we got in step 1? Paste it in "Parent #:" field in the Option 1. Press "Link to Existing Parent". Now wait for an admin to approve and all is done.
So what if there is no original yet to be found in Step 1? Same step 2 but in step 3 instead of using Option 1, use Option 2. :)
This has an explanation on the details exactly and is a good read but as a quick and easy, the above should get you started. I am around if you need any additional help or have questions! Annie 15:01, 29 August 2019 (EDT)

Introduction (The Averoigne Archives)

I assumed that these two are the same text so merged them. Let me know if they are not and I will split them and add comments. Thanks! Annie 14:21, 5 September 2019 (EDT)

Clone vs New Publication

Keep in mind that we have a Clone functionality so when you create a second copy of the book (like the ebook one, you can clone from the other publication as opposed to readding it. I will merge all the stories from this new one to their versions in the old one (and add the translator to all records). Sorry, did not realize it on time - or I would have rejected and asked you to clone (this me cleaning up now). Clone is extremely useful for collections like this one :) Annie 15:57, 5 September 2019 (EDT)

Empty Edit

Do you remember what you were trying to here? I do not see any change. Thanks! Annie 16:03, 5 September 2019 (EDT)
