Welcome!

Hello, RobertAppleton, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 13:10, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

Publication Additions

I accepted your publication addition, but made some changes to bring the in line with ISFDB standards:

  • Publication type: We use only one type of binding per record and those binding types have standard formats. I changed the bindings for these to "ebook". I didn't see the audiobook formats available at the publisher's website. If I missed them, you can clone the existing entries (see Help:How to clone a publication) to add the audiobook formats (using the standard format definitions). If they are from a different publisher, be sure to change the publisher and ISBN.
  • Cover Image: The publisher is not one the sites that has given us explicit permission to link to their images (see Help:Screen:EditPub#ImageURL). As such, I changed the image links to Amazon.
  • Series: ISFDB supports two different series types: title & publication. Titles series are "normal" series; i.e. books linked by common characters, story lines or settings. Publication series are a set of similarly packaged books designated by the publisher(s), often related only in theme or marketing. A title series is entered in the title record (which in the case of a new publication is automatically created when the publication is created, but that means you have to wait for the publication to be accepted and then edit the title record). As the series you added were title series, I moved the publication series information you added to the title series. I would appreciate it if you double checked I ordered them correctly (can be seen here).

The ISFDB has a number of conventions and it can take a bit to become familiar with all of them. I encourage you to read through the help (see links in welcome message above). Also, feel free to ask questions (either here in response to this or if a new topic you can post questions at the ISFDB:Help desk‎). We appreciate your contribution. It's always nice to have authors participate. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:49, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
