Welcome!

Hello, Rmilton, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! BLongley 12:18, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Added Clone: Vampires, Wine and Roses; John Richard Stephens, ed.; Metro Books, New York, 2008. Still need to modify to show these changes: Note the subtitle, Chilling Tales of Immortal Pleasures; order of titles and page numbers changed with this edition; ss "Popsy" by Stephen King added with this edition; the poem "The Vampire" by Baudelaire, page 182 of the original publication, was omitted with this edition (however, "Metamorphoses of a Vampire" by Baudelaire is retained). It is illustrated throughout by Vince Locke. Printed boards with embossed artwork and photo board artwork in center, front and back. No DJ Two bar codes on back cover; the second code prints above it thus - 50998. This suggests an original price of $9.98, but this needs to be verified. Rmilton

Random House edition of The Time Machine

Your submission creating a record for this edition was accepted, but some changes were made in order for the record to conform to ISFDB standards. (When you get a chance read this help page which gives you the essential information you'll need to add and update records in the database.)

  • The publisher's name was changed from "Random House, New York" to just "Random House". We only use the place of publication to disambiguate publishers.
  • The page count field was changed from "I through X, plus 86" to "x+86".
  • I added HTML line breaks in the Note field. A simple "enter" keystroke does mot create a new line. They have to be forced. The easiest way is to add "<br>" at the end of the line.

I also created content records for the preface by Wells and the interior art work by Dwiggins. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 14:57, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Like to verify your copy of The Phantom of the Opera?

It seems there is some evidence that you own this fine item from 1962. I just wanted to suggest that you may primary verify this publication (simply click on Verify This Pub in the left column of Editing Tools while you're on the level of the publication). One goal of ISFDB is to verify as much publications as we can: this way we're sure that some reasonable person has taken a look into the statements about it which are only by seondary sources up to then. And you'll be informed about any changes or additions to this publication added by someone else, which also leads to the request to inform primary verifiers on their talk page if you add or change something to the pub.s they verified.

Thanks for your input! Stonecreek 09:52, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

I have copied the original image, deleted the first upload, and re-uploaded the image using the preferred method (clicking on the link "Upload cover scan") . Uploading the cover iamge from the publication record automatically adds a license tag (required for all images hosted on the ISFDB server), assigns a unique file name (prevents any duplicating of file names which could cause a conflict), and links it back to the record (very convenient to know which record links to the uploaded image). Here's the new image's wiki page. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 18:27, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
