Welcome!

Hello, Rithebard, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 05:08, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Image deletion

Your image for the banner "Sherri's Jewel Box" has been deleted, as being irrelevant to the purposes of the ISFDB, and promotional advertising which is against ISFDB policy. Ordinarily this would result in the blocking of a user's account, but it doesn't appear to be blatantly offensive. Please restrict all future file uploads to book cover images or author photos. Thanks. Mhhutchins 05:17, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Images for Fantasy Time Inc.

It appears that there is already a link to the cover image of this book from Amazon. Do you want to replace it with this image? At this point, the image you uploaded does not have a proper license tag and its filename is too generic. If you want to replace the Amazon image with this one I can add a license and then link it to the publication record. Just let me know by responding here on your user talk page. Click on the [edit] link to the right of this message, then write your message in the window that appears, offsetting it with a colon (:), and sign your message with four tildes (~~~~), which will add your user name and date the message automatically. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 05:30, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

I would like to add an award sticker for my book, is that allowed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rithebard (talkcontribs) .
If it's a major genre award, we can link the title record to the award. If it's not, you can always update the title record and enter the award information in the note field. If it's an image file of just the sticker, no. We only accept images of book covers and author photos (if authorized by the photographer). If the award sticker is on the cover of the book, you can replace the Amazon image with an image of the cover with the sticker. Click on "Upload new cover scan" link and follow the directions. The file can't be larger than 150K and the height can't be more than 600 pixels. Once the file is uploaded to the wiki, copy its URL and then update the pub record with the URL of the file. Please end wiki messages with four tildes (~~~~). Thanks. Mhhutchins 17:31, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
