Welcome!

Hello, Ragnarok, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 16:17, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

cover for Omega

Hi, and welcome. I accepted your submission of the uploaded cover for Omega, but it was a link to the Wiki page instead of a link to the actual image, so I changed it. When you upload, don't use the page you get back, but rather copy the link to the image that appears on that Wiki page (either right-click on the image and copy the shortcut/location, or right-click on the link (the file name) that appears immediately below the image copy the shortcut/location, and use that for the cover URL). Not a big deal -- it often bites people, even people who know how it works!

One other thing. Our policy for making changes to publications with a Primary verifier is to notify the verifier of the changes. The general rule is to notify after the fact when adding information that's not there and to ask/confirm before the fact when changing any of the data that's already there. We do this on the verifier's Talk page (the Discussion tab of their user page, which is linked to from the verification list). Some people have special instructions posted for how (or whether) they want to be notified of edits involving their verifications. I let Mhhutchins know about the cover addition, but please keep it in mind for future edits. Even something as seemingly innocuous as a cover has led us to discover different printings, so it does help with overall quality. Again, not a big deal. Thanks, and thank you for contributing. --MartyD 11:49, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

The Eternal Frontiers

I'm don't understand why you chose to be the second verifier for http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?39291 The Eternal Frontiers instead of primary, but I went ahead as primary. I added some information to the notes - Powers was credited on the rear jacket flap, and the LCCN. If you want to be the primary, I'll be glad to become the secondary. Bob 22:07, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
