Entering SFBC editions
Concerning the edits to records for the SFBC edition: the ISBN which is printed on the pages of SFBC editions (starting in the 1990s) should not be entered into the ISFDB field for ISBNs unless it is a SFBC-assigned ISBN. Many of the SFBC reprints include the ISBN of the original publisher's trade edition. This number is not the SFBC ISBN. In these cases, use the SFBC identifying number on the back of the dustjacket. The trade publisher's original ISBN should be recorded in the note field. See this record as an example. Also see this help page explaning the standards for the entry of SFBC editions. If you have any questions, please respond here on your user talk page. Click on "[edit]" then enter your comment using a colon (":") to offset it from the previously entered text. Thanks for contributing. (I will accept the edits and make the necessary changes.) Mhhutchins 20:45, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
