Welcome!

Hello, Nanotyrann, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:01, 5 July 2021 (EDT)

Assassin's Quest

Regarding this submission: Interior art should be added as a content record and not as notes. While I rejected the submission, I also added the content record so you can see the final result here. We appreciate your submission & hope you will continue to contribute. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning so please check out the help links in the welcome message above. And let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:06, 5 July 2021 (EDT)

The War of the Worlds

Regarding this submission: What is the source for these change? Data either needs to come from the publication, in which case it should be primary verified, or if it comes from secondary source, the source should be specified. The notes currently say the data is from Amazon, but Amazon has the original page count and does not list the artist. Also, is the credit for the actual artist or for the cover designed? We only record over artists. Cover designers would go into the pub notes. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:11, 5 July 2021 (EDT)

Same question (what is the source) with this one also. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:13, 5 July 2021 (EDT)

Both informations are from primary sources(I own the books). Wasn't sure how to put that into my changes list. The credit for the War of the Worlds cover is from the rights page and listed as "cover image" there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nanotyrann (talkcontribs) .

Thanks. I have approved the edits. Please verify the publications (see instructions in the welcome message above) and edit the publications to change the "Data from Amazon..." statements. If the data is from the pub and verified, the secondary source statements should only be for data that did come from the pub (example "Publication date from Amazon..." when there is not an exact date in the pub). Let me know if you have any questions. -- JLaTondre (talk) 21:14, 12 July 2021 (EDT)

The God Is Not Willing

I accepted you addition of The God Is Not Willing, but had to make a couple of changes:

  • Publisher: We standardize publishers. As this has a UK price, I'm assuming it is from the UK version of Bantam. If not, please let me know and we will adjust accordingly.
  • Image: When using an Amazon cover image, please delete the underscored & everything in between. So "https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51RfJXJFlbL._SX323_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg" becomes "https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51RfJXJFlbL.jpg"
  • Maps belong as interior art content records. If they have a specific title, the title can be entered or they can just be entered under the name of the pub.

Thanks. Let us know if you have questions with any of that. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:19, 5 July 2021 (EDT)

Adrian Tchaikovsky / Feast and Famine

I am editing / PVing Feast and Famine. I will add pub notes and change the title of the story "The Sun in the Morning" to "The Sun of the Morning" as stated on its title page and add a pub note about the discrepancy with the TOC. Teallach 18:15, 9 July 2022 (EDT)

Adrian Tchaikovsky / Ironclads

I am editing / PVing Ironclads. I will add pub notes and change the price to £25.00 because publisher has a UK address and replace the cover with a scan from my copy because the Amazon image is not quite the same (doesn't have Clarke Award blurb). Teallach 18:08, 12 July 2022 (EDT)

Adrian Tchaikovsky / One Day All This Will Be Yours

I am editing / PVing One Day All This Will Be Yours. I will add pub notes and change the price to £25.00 because publisher has a UK address. Teallach 17:05, 16 July 2022 (EDT)
