Welcome!

Hello, Montsamu, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 20:16, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

The Long List Anthology

I accepted the submission adding this record, without first checking to see if it was already in the database. And it was, even though it was just a stub record. It would have been better to update that record, adding the new information. I will delete the old record and keep the one you added.

I have made the following changes based on ISFDB standards (which are linked in the Welcome section above):

  • Added the subtitle which appears on the title page (according to the Amazon "Look Inside").
  • Changed the publication date to the full one that is given in the Amazon listing, and then noted the source.
  • Changed the publisher name (we usually remove such designations as "LLC").
  • Changed the ISBN to the ISBN-13. All books published after January 2007 should have a stated ISBN-13. If not, only then should you give the ISBN-10 and note the absence of the ISBN-13. (The Amazon "Look Inside" shows the ISBN-13 on the copyright page.)
  • Removed the cover image link to a website which hasn't given us explicit permission to "deep link" to their images. I replaced it with a link to the cover image file on Amazon.
  • Added a content record for the foreword.
  • I edited the synopsis to be more objective and impartial, and removed any information duplicated in the publication record itself.

I will also go ahead and merge the new content title records with those which are already in the database. Ordinarily an editor adding a new publication would be expected to do the merging once the new titles are in the database. If you continue to edit here, and we hope you do, please take some time to read the help documentation, especially this one. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins|talk 21:09, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
