Welcome!
Hello, LeifOnMars, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Help pages
- Help:Getting Started
- What the ISFDB Wiki is for
- ISFDB FAQ
- Wiki editing help - Tips on how to use the wiki-specific features when editing wiki pages.
- Wiki Conventions - How things are usually done on this wiki.
- Help:How to upload images to the ISFDB wiki
Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.
Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.
I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 13:45, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Kinsman
I accepted the submission adding the Sidgwick & Jackson edition of Kinsman, but had to make some changes in order for it to comply with ISFDB standards (you'll find help pages linked in the welcome section above that will set out these standards).
- The title was changed from "KINSMAN" to "Kinsman" using standard English capitalization standards.
- The binding format was changed from "Hardcover" to "hc".
- I merged the new title record that was created with this submission with the current title record so that all the pubs with this title would be listed on the same record. When creating a record for a book that's not in the database, you should first check to see if the title is already here. If so, go to the title page and use the "Add Publication to This Title" function. If not, use the "Add New Novel" (or "...Collection", etc.). The first function automatically links the new publication to the existing title record.
If you have a copy of this book, please do a primary verification of the record (See the "How to Verify Data" link in the welcome section). If you don't have a copy of the book, you should update the record by adding the source of your data in the note field of the record.
Thanks for contributing. If you have any questions concerning this submission, you can ask them here on your user talk page. Click on the [edit] link to the right of this message, type in your response in the text window, and sign it with four tildes (~~~~). The system will then automatically "sign" and date each message. Again, thanks and welcome to the ISFDB. Mhhutchins 13:57, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
