Satan's Moon

I have moved your comments to the synopsis section of the database title record for Satan's Moon. There it will be more readily seen by users of the ISFDB. Please note that our record of this title is currently based on pre-publication information posted on amazon.com, which is often inaccurate. Please check the publication record and edit it to include any further information you may have. If you have a copy (as I presume you do, if you are in fact the author) you might consider marking the record as verified. I see you have recreated Publication:STNSMNGGLN2008. Please understand that such pages are intended for discussing bibliographic problems with publications, for example when the date is uncertain, or the cover artist disputed, or it is unclear whether the contents of two editions are the same or not. Please read What the ISFDB Wiki is for, where it says:

"The ISFDB Wiki should not be used for posting book reviews, whether favorable, unfavorable, or neutral in tone. It should not be used to publish advertisements or announcements of events, even if SF-related, such as conventions. It should not be used to publish advertisements for books or merchandise. Lists of an author's work ought to be made as entries in the regular database, not as Wiki-pages, but such lists may be useful temporarily, while database records are being entered or modified."

As you will see if you look at the title record for Satan's Moon the synopsis you provided has been stored in the database itself, which actually has more visibility to readers than any wiki page does, and which is the normal place for such information. It has not simply been erased.

Just a note that I have removed the synopsis from the Wiki page now that it has been added to the database proper. Synopsis data really belongs at the Title (i.e. book) level rather than at the Publication (i.e. edition) level and it has better visibility on the database side as well. No worries, we all had to experiment with different nooks and crannies of the database at first :) Ahasuerus 17:26, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I see that you recreated Publication:STNSMNGGLN2008 as a basically promotional page. Phrases such as "this fantastic book" and "you can read bits of the book, which I think are great." are really not appropriate. Publication: pages on the iSFDB wiki are for recording bibliographic notes or discussing problems in how to record a particualr book or othe publication. Synopsies are recorded in the database title record, and this book already has one. Reviews, promotion, news about the author's works in progress, and critical comments on the book d not belong anywhere on the ISFDB. Those proeprly go on author or fan sites, and we already link to the author's site for this book. -DES Talk 14:04, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
