Welcome!

Hello, Jolylchu, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 08:50, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

The Sons of Maeve Trilogy

Hello, I've approved your submission but made some changes to conform to our standards: 1) changed type to OMNIBUS (as it's constitued of declared NOVELs items), 2) added currency symbol (I supposed USD, remember we're an international outfit and not everyone uses $), 3) changed all dates to 2006-04-25 (as per amazon's "look inside" feature, coherent with 2006 copyright), 4) changed authorship of Journey's Call to Rose Cox alone (as per same feature), can you confirm the joint authorship of the second poem?, 5) uploaded scan (note that the artist is likely one of these Snyders). The result is here. Thanks for contributing. Hauck 09:04, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your warm welcome and for making appropriate changes to my first contributions. I have a few questions, but I will review the help pages before I ask them. Thanks again. Jolylchu 02:25, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
I've rejected your "add publication" submission as this will entail lots of merges afterwards. Please use the "Clone this pub" function instead, the more so because we do not consider that the correction of grammatical mistakes makes a new text (so the NOVEL will keep their initial dates). The Sons of Meave: Aarrawn's Labyrinth

Hello, I've also approved this submission, with the same remarks, note that I've blanked price and added corresponding data in the notes. Result is here. Hauck 09:11, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Sons of Maeve Trilogy later edition

Hi, and welcome. I accepted your clone submission forThe Sons of Maeve Trilogy, and there are a couple of things that should be different.

  • For the "Forward" fixed-to-be-"Foreword", you can use "Remove Titles from this Pub" to pull the "Forward" out. A second step will then be to make the misspelled one a variant of the new corrected one (whose ID is 2148354).
  • One other thing for that corrected one: When we have "generic" titles that might be used for the same purpose over completely different text in other publications (such as "Foreword", "Afterword", "Introduction", and so on), we add the containing book's title in parentheses. So, here, we would turn "Foreword" into "Foreword (The Sons of Maeve Trilogy)". You could do this on "Foreword to the Foreword" if you wanted to, although that one's less likely to get used again else where -- up to you.

I've left them in case you want to try doing them for yourself. If not, just let me know and I will take care of them. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks. --MartyD 00:28, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

The Witch of Portobello

Hello, and thanks for adding this novel new to us. As usual for a beginner there are a few issues with it: 1) It seems the publisher should be shortened to Harper Perennial, for which we have more than 200 publications, this at the moment being the only one for 'Harper Perennial / HarperCollins Publishers'.

2) You were right to determine the year for the novel as 2007. However, the novel content title doesn't need to be added, it's generated automatically; thus it shows up two times: the 2008 title should be removed.

3) Do you have a source for the interview's publication in 2006? If not, it likely should also be dated to 2007 or even 2008 (if it's original to your verified volume).

If you like, you may variant the English translation to the original Portuguese title, which is done by making use of •Make This Title a Variant Title or Pseudonymous Work (the second part). Again, thanks! Stonecreek 08:03, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
