Welcome!

Hello, Jaak, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Willem H. 17:15, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

De Helden van de Highway / Hoe Kan Ik Schreeuwen Zonder Mond

I reviewed your submission for this title, but then moved the translated titles to the publication, and did some editing (you don't need to note the variant titles and publication year for the stories, see the result here. I also added the missing data (publication series, price, pages, cover artist) from my copy of the book. I noticed you uploaded a coverscan, but it takes another edit to show the illustration on the publication page. This is the help page. You only missed step 6, copying the URL of the image to the pub record. I did it for this pub, do you want to try is with the other Ellison you submitted (see here for the pub, and here for the image)? Let me know, and again thanks for editing! --Willem H. 18:18, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for sharing - it's always good to know who you're working with. Non-English titles have always been our weakest spot, so I'm sure you'll find much to do. Welcome aboard! BLongley 01:34, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Credits and Story Sources

Hello, Jaak! I have seen that you verified this pub, admired it and wondered about the last item in this collection if it really is shortfiction or is, perhaps, an essay. At least its title lead me to guess so. Stonecreek 14:20, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Kingdom of the Stars

I saw your note in a submission to "update" this title record. That is not the best venue to ask questions, especially if the submission really doesn't update the record. It's better to ask questions on one of the various community pages, not in the Note to Moderator field. This field's purpose is to provide further information that helps the moderator determine whether to accept the submission. Specific questions about how to edit the database can be asked at Help Desk page, general comments can be made on the Community Portal, or to discuss ISFDB policy and rules go to the Rules and Standards page. You'll get a faster and more thorough response as more editors will see it there than the one moderator who handles your submission. You can even leave a question on the Moderator Noticeboard if you want to get the attention of all moderators who are currently online. Most of us monitor all of these pages so we know when a message has been left on any of them.

Now to your question: here is a verified record of the Haffner edition and there's no mention of "Kingdoms of the Stars". Neither does the content listing in the Locus database. I think the confusion is caused because Haffner lists the story on their website as being one of the four stories that were "fixed-up" to form the novel Return to the Stars. We don't list the constituent parts of "fixed-up" novels, except occasionally in the title record of the novel. I have updated the novel's title record to indicate the source stories. Hope this helps. Mhhutchins 23:22, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Henry Kuttner

I changed the notes, removing the "information from Amazon" and adding the number of copies, who signed the book and the fact that there were B&W illustrations opposite the first page of each story in http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?342754 Henry Kuttner. I also noted that J.K. Potter did the end papers and frontispiece, and that this pub is in the series "Masters of the Weird Tale." If you have a problem with any of these changes, please feel free to alter them. Bob 00:08, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
