Cerberus: A Wolf in the Fold

Thanks for Cerberus: A Wolf in the Fold, we didn't know about that edition. Do you happen to know the price? Or a more specific date of publication? Amazon US says $9.99 and 2011-07-22, Amazon UK has a different publisher ("Arc Manor"), same date, but £7.99. BLongley 01:16, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Sourcing data

Please record the source of your data in the record's note field. If you are adding a new pub and working with the book in hand, please note that in the "Note to Moderator" field. This let's the moderator know that you're working from a primary source and will facilitate the acceptance of the submission. Tom Paine Maru

I moved the Note to the Moderator to the record's Note field for this publication. The Moderator Note does not become part of the visible record and any information about the book itself that doesn't fit into other fields should be placed into the Note field. Specific information about the submission (not the publication) goes into the Note to Moderator field. Please do a primary verification of the records you're adding today when you get the chance. Tau Ceti

The Note to Moderator field should not be used to ask questions to the moderator. The best place to ask questions, before making a submission to add a new record or edit an existing one, is at the Help Desk. Please bookmark this link.

Now, about the submission adding a pub record for the anthology Tau Ceti: you asked "Each book will contain an introduction by the editor (Resnick) and an introduction of the lesser-known author by the main author. Do the pages for these introductions need to be noted in the Content listing?" Yes, not only the pages, but you also have to create a content record for the title, author, etc. It should be typed as ESSAY, and the date can be left blank if this is the piece's first appearance. If it's a generic title like "Introduction" you should disambiguate it by adding the title of the work being introduced: "Introduction (Tortoise and Hare)".

You also asked "While the two stories (typically a novella and a novelette) in each book are set in the same universe and one of them might be a prequel or a sequel, each complete book is not connected to another. Please advise if this needs to be noted somehow." Pub records are entered into pub series, while title records placed in title series. If you're not aware of the distinction read this help page. I'm assuming that "The Stellar Guild" is a publication series, not a title series. So the book is in the pub series and the contents should be updated to add a title series. You can always add notes to either series if you feel it necessary to explain the series. You can add a "Bibliographic Comments" page to a title series (it's creates a editable wiki page. Don't remove the template. Enter text below it.) You can add notes directly to a publication series by clicking on the "Edit This Publication Series" link under the Editing Tools menu. On this you can add links to any wikipedia article or to the publisher's website.

I can't find anything on either Amazon or the Phoenix Pick website that gives Mike Resnick as the editor of this book. Is he credited as the editor on the book's title page? Mhhutchins 00:06, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Silverberg's The Masks of Time

If the introduction is original to this publication, then it should have the same date of publication, unless it was previously published. Thanks. Mhhutchins 01:24, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't understand the comment. The book The Masks of Time was originally published in 1968. This edition is a reprint done in 2012. The only difference to the text is the addition of an introduction, which was written specifically for this edition. Please advise as to what I need to do before I verify this publication. Thank you. The date of the introduction is "2012-01-00". The date of the publication is "2012-10-01". So..."if the introduction is original to this publication then it should have the same date as the publication". If it were actually published in January 2012 in another publication then it would not be original to this publication. Mhhutchins 07:14, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
