Welcome!

Hello, Icon, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 12:21, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Uploading images

Hello, I've seen that you uploaded a "standalone" image for this title. This should be done AFTER entering the corresponding publication and via the "Upload new cover scan" link at publication level (it will insert the appropriate metadata and diverse legal declarations). I've deleted it. I've also approved your submission and correctly uploaded a scan of the cover. The result is here.Hauck 12:23, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello Hervé. Thanks for the approval of my submission and for correcting the mistake about the cover. Rules can prove pretty tricky... Best regards. Nicolas (Icon 15:37, 26 July 2015 (UTC))

Notifying PVs

Hello, I've approved your submission and adpated it a bit (I've included data that was in the "note to moderator" field, data that disappears after approving stage). The result is here. Please note that ISFDB etiquette requires you to inform the PVs ("Primary verifiers", the person(s) that declared to own the book) of modifications to the data, in this case you should have notified Linguist. Some contributors have varying policies regarding the notifications they seek, it's usually on top of their talk page. Thanks for contributing. Hauck 17:06, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Image size

Hello, please note that uploaded images must be no more than 600 pixels wide (and weigh less than 150K). I've resized it and re-uploaded it. Hauck 20:13, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Varianting titles

Sorry, but I rejected your varianting for a French title: as this title would have been 'empty' (i.e. without a publication), our clean-up routines would eventually lead to a deletion of the title. The best (and correct) way is to enter a publication and then variant it to the original title (and maybe it's better to begin with a publication you have in hand).
