Welcome!

Hello, Hughblong, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 15:56, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Dawning of the Wolf Age

I have rejected your change to Dawning of the Wolf Age which would have changed the title to "Star Wolves". I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve, but the title record should match the books. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:16, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Star Fury

I have accepted your addition of Star Fury, but had to make some changes to bring it in-line with ISFDB standards:

  • Date: I added the month based on the "First Printing: August 2014" in the Amazon Look-Inside
  • Pub Series: The ISFDB differentiates publisher series (publisher level series like Ballantine Adult Fantasy) from title series (universe or groupings of books independent of publisher like Dune Universe) Unfortunately, you cannot enter Title Series information when you submit a new publication. You have to wait until the submission is accepted, then go back and edit the newly-created title record to add the series information. See Help:How to work with series for more details. I removed the pub series you entered and moved it to the title records.
  • Cover Images: Cover images need to be added via the "Upload new cover scan" link on the publication record. They should not be entered directly via the wiki. Using the proper link adds the proper information to the image page that is needed for fair-use rationale and to link back to the book. Unfortunately, this means you need to wait for a new book to be added before you can add the image if you are going to upload it to ISFDB. I have moved your image to the proper location & deleted the original.

We do appreciate your submission. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning, but everything should be in the help links in the welcome message above. We hope you will continue to contribute. And please let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:25, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
