Welcome!

Hello, Hellboy69, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:06, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

New Publications

I approved your recent additions, but made a number of changes to conform to ISFDB standards:

  • Publisher: I changed the publisher from "Samhain" to "Samhain Publishing".
  • Binding/Format: We only list one format per publication record. If a book is published in multiple formats, then we create a separate record for each format. I changed these to match the format for the ISBN you entered. If you wish to enter the other formats, then you will need to clone the publication.
  • Pub Series: The ISFDB differentiates publisher series (publisher level series like Ballantine Adult Fantasy) from title series (universe or groupings of books independent of publisher like Dune Universe) Unfortunately, you cannot enter Title Series information when you submit a new publication. You have to wait until the submission is accepted, then go back and edit the newly-created title record to add the series information. See Help:How to work with series for more details. I removed the pub series you entered and moved it to the title records.
  • Chapterbooks: When entering chapterbooks, the shortfiction within the chapterbook should also be entered. I have added these.

I also added cover images and prices as applicable. We do appreciate your submission. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning, but everything should be in the help links in the welcome message above. We hope you will continue to contribute. And please let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:06, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Panic Button

As you verified Panic Button, please double check the edits I made (previous section). You should only verify the version you have. Since you had two bindings, I was forced to make it one (tp in this case). If you have the ebook, then you should unverify this publication, close a new publication, and verify the new one.

Also, is this speculative fiction? The description makes it sound like a non-speculative fiction horror novel. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:06, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
