Welcome!

Hello, Guus, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 19:31, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Children of the Night

Hi, and welcome. I accepted your submission of Children of the Night and made a couple of very minor changes to it. I changed the publisher from "Stoneshire Books" to "Stoneshire", since we already have a few entries using that shorter form. I also took away the publication series information. The Space Mavericks is a title series (even if published by another publisher, the work remains #2 in The Space Mavericks). This bites every new editor because Pub Series is so prominent when you add a new publication. See Help:How_to_work_with_series for more information. If you go to Michael King's page, you'll see Children of the Night appears as a title in The Space Mavericks, so hopefully it looks the way you want it to. Again, welcome, and thank you for contributing. --MartyD 22:47, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Linking an uploaded image to the publication record

I had to reject the submission that attempted to add a cover image to this record because it was an invalid URL. This field requires a complete URL, so instead of just the file name (SNDNCNDTHR1976.jpg), you should have entered http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/a/a6/SNDNCNDTHR1976.jpg. You can get this by clicking on the image from the file's wiki page, and copying the URL from your browser's address window. Please try again. Thanks for contributing. That did it. The other bit of protocol we have is to notify Primary verifiers of changes made to their publications. It is usually ok to ADD first, notify after (especially for covers), while to CHANGE something you should ask first and only proceed when the verifier agrees. The way you notify is to go to the verifier's Wiki talk page (User_talk:Mhhutchins in this case) and leave a note there or follow whatever instructions are posted at the top of the page. You'll see he has some special instructions. Of course, he handled your original submission, so that notification would be a little redundant in this case. Something to keep in mind for future submissions, though. Thanks, and thank you for contributing. --MartyD 10:48, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

A Plague of Pythons

For A Plague of Pythons I've included the Printing History and the source of the Cover Artist. --AndyjMo 11:33, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
