Welcome!

Hello, Greenfirephoenix, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 17:11, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Consigned to the Sea

This record was accepted but some changes were made for it to comply with ISFDB standards. Those standards are linked in the Welcome section above.

  • The date of publication was added based on the Amazon listing.
  • The binding was changed to "tp" (for "trade paperback") because it's more than 7 inches tall.
  • The title of the introduction was disambiguated by parenthetically adding the title of the work being introduced. This is done for generic titles.
  • The introduction's type was changed from NONFICTION to ESSAY. The former is used for book-length works, the latter for shorter non-fiction works which are contained in a larger publication.
  • The synopsis was edited to be less subjective. Don't use publisher blurbs whose only purpose is to sell the book. It should be a simple synopsis of the work.

A question: What is the book's title as given on its title page? The cover gives the title as Consigned to the Sea and Other Stories. If that is the title given on the title page, that should be reflected in the ISFDB publication record's title field.

Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 17:20, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
