Welcome!

Hello, Ferret, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 23:49, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

A Chimaera in My Wardrobe

There are quite a number of problems with the submission to add a record for this collection. I'm going to accept it but make the following corrections, all based on standards as given on this help page which explains how to enter each field of a publication record. Please look over this page before making future submissions.

  • Title was changed to A Chimaera in My Wardrobe which reflects standard English capitalization (those rules are explained on the help page linked above). These rules apply regardless of what capitalization is used in the book, unless there is an obvious reason why the author chooses to disregard standard English capitalization.
  • Publication date was changed to show that given in the Amason listing: 2013-03-04 (the ISFDB standard for date entry: YYYY-MM-DD).
  • The format binding field was changed to "ebook". The formats and their designation are given on the help page linked above.
  • The ASIN (Amazon ID number) was removed from the ISBN/Catalog number field. This field should only give the publisher's ID number, not the retailer. I've moved the ASIN to the Note field.
  • The price field was changed from "£3.08" to "$2.99", the retail price as given in the Amazon listing.
  • The types of each of the contents in the collection were changed from COLLECTION to SHORTFICTION. The first is for the container publication, the latter is the type for any less-than-novel length short fiction.
  • There was no source given in the record's Note field. If you are working from the primary source (the book itself), let the moderator know in the "Note to Moderator" field. If you're working from a secondary source (any source other than the book), you must give that source in the Note field. I'll add Amazon as the source, since that's where I got my data.

Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 00:02, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
