Welcome!

Hello, Essuniz, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 07:47, 11 May 2018 (EDT)

Binti

Hello,

A couple of things about Binti

  • Chapbooks are a special container type so when you add one, you should always add a short fiction title as well. I did this here. Think of it as a collection of 1 story - you have the chapbook (the collection) but you also need to add the contents (the story)
  • You added in the notes that the date is from LTF and the publisher site but you also verified the book (aka - told us that you physically own the book). Which of the two is it?

Thanks and welcome again! Let me know if you want me to variant the book and the story to their English originals or if you want to try (and if you do, if you need assistance) :) Annie 13:25, 11 July 2018 (EDT)

Hello,
It's my first time adding Spanish chapbooks to ISFDB, so I was a bit lost there. Thank you for fixing it.
  • I had the same problem in Agentes de Dreamland, and in the future, I'll be more careful adding more of the Runas and Crononauta translated chapbooks, so thanks (again) there.
  • I retrieved the information from LTF and maybe the verification will be better from there, as they collected almost the entire information except for the artist.
About variant the book I'll do it myself, but thanks for the offering. In case I'm struggling a bit I'll look for you :) --Essuniz 13:52, 11 July 2018 (EDT)
Yup, I fixed the other one as well and fixed it, figured out you will see it and I do not need to come and let you know :) Annie 14:12, 11 July 2018 (EDT)
OK, the novellas are now varianted (I just approved the two submissions). The chapbooks also need varianting when an original one exists. Would you like to submit them as well? :) Annie 17:59, 11 July 2018 (EDT)
PS: for the veritification - do you own the book or have access to the book? If you do, then it is a primary verification and you are supposed to check the details in the book and not rely on secondary sources. You can add other details from secondary sources but the book is the primary source and most of the information should come from it. If I am reading your message correctly though, you got the data from LTF and do not own the book. If this is the case you should NOT be verifying the book. LTF or any secondary source cannot "primary verify" a book; only a person with a book at hand can. Annie 17:59, 11 July 2018 (EDT)
