Welcome!

Hello, Dsht, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 17:59, 2 April 2018 (EDT)

Vastarien: A Literary Journal

I have your addition of "Vastarien: A Literary Journal" on hold. This looks like a mixed genre magazine, is that correct? If so, we would only list the contents that are speculative fiction related. Are you able to confirm which ones are? If so, I will update the record appropriately. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 17:59, 2 April 2018 (EDT)

The contents are speculative fiction related, both with poems and short fiction and essays concerning speculative fiction. The ones marked non-fiction are the essays.

Thanks. I have accepted the submission, but made the following changes to bring it in-line with our standards:
  • Magazine titles are entered with the month & year (or issue number if month & year not provided).
  • Magazines are dated with their issue date. In this case, since it is Spring 2018, it is entered just as 2018-00-00. If a more specific publication date is known, it can be added to the publication notes.
  • Corrected spelling of Dagny Paul.
  • ISBN should be entered as ISBN13 for publications that have them. ISBN10 should only be entered for pubs that did not have an ISBN13. The software will automatically display the other version.
  • Prices should be entered with currency symbol as we deal in multiple currencies.
  • Essay should be entered as "ESSAY". NONFICTION is for books.
  • Interior art should be entered with the title of the art if it has one. If not, it should be given the publications name.
  • Author names with initials & periods should have a period after the period.
  • The data source for entries should be sourced in the pub notes unless you have a copy and are primary verifying it (see help links above). As you did not indicate that in this submission, I sourced Amazon and the publisher's website. If you have a copy, please remove the note and primary verify it.
  • Pub Series is specific to publisher series (like Ballantine Adult Fantasy).
We do appreciate your submission. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning, but everything should be in the help links in the welcome message above. We hope you will continue to contribute. And please let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 18:35, 2 April 2018 (EDT)

Big Echo

Hello, sorry to step in but can you confirm that this webzine meets our ROA and so is not covered by our exclusion rules here. In a nutshell, to be included the stories from a website that are not downloadable (as it seems to be the case here) must be either 1) be eligible for SFWA membership or 2) shortlisted for a major award. Is it the case here? Thanks. Hauck 03:04, 3 April 2018 (EDT)

After some research, I didn't find conclusive evidence and so, without reply, I've deleted the whole lot. Hauck 02:27, 5 April 2018 (EDT)
