Greyhawk Adventures Book 1: Saga of Old City

Approved your Greyhawk Adventures Book 1: Saga of Old City entry. You have 1985 as the publication date. Amazon has 1999, could you please double check? Dana Carson 18:55, 8 Dec 2007 (CST)

I have added the dollar sign to the price field. OCLC (record 13013754) agrees that the book was published in 1985 and suggests that the interior art was also done by Clyde Caldwell. Since the second book in the series was published in 1986, it's probably safe to assume that 1985 is right. Ahasuerus 22:39, 8 Dec 2007 (CST)

The Thief's Gamble

I've approved your addition of The Thief's Gamble but please note that we enter author names using "first last" rather than "last, first".

Also, before adding a new publication please first check to see if the title already exists. If so, then you will be better off using either "Add Publication to This Title" or cloning an existing publication. For example, from the title record for The Thief's Gamble you could click on "Add Publication to This Title" on the left menu bar. This will set up a publication record for you with the title and author already filled in and also ensures that the new publication is linked to the correct title. Legacy by Schmitz

I approved your edit, but we already had Legacy listed as a varient title of A Tale of Two Clocks. I have merged your publication into that listing. (I also added cover art, as shown here, is it correct for your copy?) It now seems as if we have two nearly identical pubs. Can you check if they are in fact identical enough that one can be deleted? Also, one lists the cover artist as "Bob Adragna" and the other as "Robert Adragna". Can you chek the exact credit on your copy? Thaks for your contributions. -DES Talk 16:30, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Alone Against Tomorrow by Ellison

I approved your edit, but again, we already had a listing for Alone Against Tomorrow albiet without the sub-title. I have merged your publication into that listing, adding the sub-title. I have also added cover art, as can be seen here. Please check if the cover art I found on amazon correctly matches your copy.

The catalog number you listed: #01978, was only a section of the ISBN as reported by the isbndb.com and amazon.com sites. I have filled in the entire ISBN from those sources: 0-02-019780-2. Does a complete ISBN appear on the book itself? If so, is the ISBN I have added correct?

It will save time and trouble if you check whether we already have a book listed before adding it. When a book has a sub-title, as this one does, it is worth checking under the main title alone. A quick look through the relevan author page can also be a good way to find existing listings, particularly via the "Alphabetical" display. If we do have a listing, you can use the "add a publication" to enter a new edition or printing, with the title and author pre-filled in, and the new record automatically linked to the proepr title record. Or, and this can save a lot of time with a collection or anthology, you can choose an existing publication and use the "clone" tool, which will copy all the existing contents to the new record.

Strange Relations

I have your submission on hold as you want to change the publication type for STRNGRLTNS2006 from OMNIBUS to COLLECTION. Per the title page this is an omnibus of The Lovers, Flesh, and the 1960 collection Strange Relations. Do you have a copy of this publication? Per one of the Amazon reviews it seems to be an omnibus as the title page suggests though it's confusing that there's both a collection and omnibus with the same name. new edition of Masterpieces of Fantasy and Wonder

Hi. This is just an editing tip, and if you're already aware of it I apologize. I approved your submission of the leather-bound edition of Masterpieces of Fantasy and Wonder, and I imported the contents from one of the existing publications. Especially when you're entering something with a lot of contents, such as an anthology or collection, the "Clone" operation can be very helpful. If you see a publication whose publication details are different but whose contents are the same, you can view that publication and then pick "Clone This Pub" from the left-hand menu. This will give you a new publication of the same title, with all of the contents copied. You can then edit the main publication's details (date, publisher, page count, ISBN, etc.) and assign page numbers to the contents. It can save a lot of work. Easton Press ed. of The Fellowship of the Ring

The submission adding this record was accepted, but I removed "69" from the price field, and added a note that the cost of the five-volume set was $345.00 (69 x 5), under the assumption that individual volumes were not separately priced. If that's not true, please leave a message here on your talk page. I also disambiguated the record for the interior art by titling it "The Fellowship of the Ring (frontispiece)", the ISFDB standard for entering such works. Thanks for contributing.
