The Comedian as the Letter D: Erasmus Darwin's Comic Materialism

Hello, I've put your submission for this title on hold. As I suppose that you're the author, can you be more precise about the relation with spec-fic of this work, an aspect that is not readily apparent (see point 4 of the ROA). Thanks. Hauck 10:33, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Without reply, I've rejected your submission. Hauck 14:54, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

Sorry that I have not answered your queries. Obviously, I am new and trying to navigate this system. Yes, the Nijhoff book on Erasmus Darwin is mine. I also did the Twayne volume on E.D. (1973). In the fall issue of Science Fiction Studies for 1976 (I believe it was the fall issue, might have been the one just prior, but I am sure it was 1976), Dale Mullen has a short comment in the backmatter of the issue about my work on Erasmus Darwin. The strong implication in his comment is that E.D. is a sort of proto-SF writer because of his interest in the links of science and literature and because of his "comic tone." I go much further with the trope of "comic tone" in later things I have written -- many of which are included in the bibliography that you work with out of Texas A & M. Also, as you know, Aldiss highlights the work of E.D. in both Billion Year Spree and in Trillion Year Spree. In any case, this is a very belated response to your concerns. Thank you for the huge amount of bibliographic work you do -- DMH 09:07, 12 January 2016 (UTC) Donald M. Hassler

IMHO, the connection is a bit slight to accept this book in the db as it's not stricto sensu "about" speculative fiction. Thanks for the information. Hauck 14:49, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for putting up the Heinlein entry DMH 08:30, 15 January 2016 (UTC) Donald M. Hassler
