Aberrations #15

The submissions you made today are duplicates of a periodical that's already in the database. Here's a link to the listing. Thanks. Mhhutchins 14:22, 28 May 2007 (CDT)

Tag field

The tag field is intended for an internal code such as THPTCKNGHT1993 that's a shortcut for getting to publications. Usually you would leave this blank and the system will fill it in for you. As it is, there's bugs in dealing with tags that contain quote marks and the tag you used for The Poetic Knight, Vol. #1, Issue #8 of "The World's Greatest Fantasy Magazine" could not be processed at all meaning I'll need to reject your submission but went ahead with re-entering it via copy/paste and leaving the tab blank. The magazine is available at THPTCKNGHT1993. Do you have a copy of this? You only listed one story in the contents. Marc Kupper (talk) 23:41, 31 May 2007 (CDT)

Cover images

Are you scanning in the cover images yourself? Please be aware that cover artwork is copyrighted. It is a common practice though to have low resolution scans in support of bibliographic listings. Amazon.com deals with this by lowering the resolution so that the image is not more than 400 pixels high or wide. Thus while your high-res scans will be appreciated by those that do want to see the details it's possible the cover artist (or her lawyers) will not be as pleased. Another issue is the large images are very slow to load. I don't know if it's a photobucket problem or what but it's taking over a minute to load things like [1] or [2]. I'm afraid I've had to delete the cover images - every image had either been moved or deleted. BLongley 11:58, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

Let's you think all we do is sit around and complain. :-) Thank you - the magazines you entered look very nice. If you have a fairly good collection of a particular magazine you may want to consider adding a page about it off of Magazines where you can look and see how others have set up pages about specific magazines and other journals. The Darkness

Chuck; I approved your addition of The Darkness but have some questions:

  • You included the code "5WM-001-DRKNSS" with the ISBN. What is this?
  • You stated the date as 1993-00-00 and the pages as 1993-06-03. I've changed the page count to 98 which is what's in Amazon. The date should be what's stated but if a secondary source is available with a more reliable or accurate date then we can cite that.
  • You reported the publisher as "5th World Word" but Amazon reports CreateSpace. We generally go by what's stated in the publication.
  • You called this a collection - what stories or poems does this contain?

On a more personal level - I was going to link to your web site at www.5wm.net but that's down. Are there plans to bring it up again? --Marc Kupper|talk 02:23, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
