Robert Martin

Thank you for providing additional information about Robert Martin. A few points:

  • All our dates are entered in the form YYYY-MM-DD. If the day or month is unknown, use 00. Any other format will be saved as 0000-00-00, which displays as just "unknown".
  • The legal name field, unlike the canonical name, is entered as Lastname, Firstname Middle. I have fixed this on Robert Martin.
  • You provided a link to an author image. Unfortunately as indicated in ISFDB:Image linking permissions, we need permission to hot-link to an image, and we don't yet have permission from dreadcentral.com, the site used in the link you provided: <http://www.dreadcentral.com/img/news/mar09/bobmartin.jpg>. Since that site provides no info on who took this photo, or on who owns the copyright, I don't think we can even upload it here under a "fair use" claim, since that requires attribution. (I note that Wikipedia doesn't have an image of this author either. Their standards are stricter than ours.) I'm afraid we will have to remove the link if we can't get permission fairly soon, or the info needed for a fair use claim. (See {{Author Image Data}}.)

Again, welcome to the ISFDB. -DES Talk 01:37, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Welcome Bustter. I see you are correcting the image link to dreadcentral and are using Wikipedia instead. Unfortunately, Wikipedia disallows linking to images... However, I see that you uploaded this image to wikipedia:File:bobmartin.jpg last year and reported it as your own work. As you own the image you can also upload it to ISFDB at Special:Upload and then link to it. --Marc Kupper|talk 06:09, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Since the image was already on wikipedia commons under a CC license, It was free for reuse. I downloaded a copy from there and uploaded it here (see Image:Bob_Martin.jpg). Problem solved. Again, thank you. -DES Talk 14:28, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
