Welcome!

Hello, Bmlsk20, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 00:46, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

New Publications

I accepted the addition of the seven books you added, but made a number of changes to conform to ISFDB standards:

  • Author Credit: On a couple books, you credited "Bobbie M Kaald" (no period). However, Amazon Look Inside shows "Bobbie M. Kaald" (with period). As such, I changed the credit to add the period. We enter records exactly as shown on the title page (not cover) of the original publication. If the publication you have doesn't have the period, then I apologize and please change the record back.
  • Binding/Format: On several books, you entered multiple bindings in a single record. We only list one format per publication record. If a book is published in multiple formats, then we create a separate record for each format. We also use a specific set of values for this field. I changed these to match the format for the ISBN you entered.
  • Cover Image & Price: I added the cover images and prices from Amazon.
  • Chapterbooks: Chapterbooks should include a shortfiction record for contained shortfiction. I've added these.

Here are links to the approved publications:

Please review each of these records. If this is the version you have, please double check all information exactly matches the publication (title page, format, etc). If this is not, then you will have to unverify the publication, clone it with the correct information for the version you have, and verify the new record.

We do appreciate your submission. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning, but everything should be in the help links in the welcome message above. We hope you will continue to contribute. And please let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 00:46, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Your recent submissions

Hello, I've approved your set of recent submissions but had to make some corrections to conform to our standards: 1) changed publisher to "Bobbie Kaald" (createSpace is just an printer), 2) set format to tp as per dimension given on amazon, 3) entered ISBN-13, 4) added SHORTFICTION content. Note that some of these points have already evoked with you above. Results are here, here and here. Hauck 10:30, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

CreateSpace

CreateSpace isn't a publisher, but rather a printing and production service (a subsidiary of Amazon, which is probably why they insist on naming it in the "publisher" space on their pages). So we don't list it as a publisher here. Therefore, I've changed the publisher of Aaron Tells the Truth About the Sasquatch to a blank space (since there is none listed in the book). --Vasha 18:37, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
