Cover of Darkness May 2009
I accepted your submission for Cover of Darkness (magazine) but then I converted it to an Anthology. Anthologies like this, (even when they call themselves magazines) get indexed this way due to the irregularity / slowness of the publication cycle. Most collectors / readers think of them as books in a series instead of a true magazine. I also massaged the data a bit. When entering authors, (even when the publication doesn't) we capitalize the initials and last name, and we also separate the initials with a space like "H. G. Wells". Lastly I changed the one author from "N/A" to "uncredited". (Hah! this is the one 'author' which is uncapitalized). When something is published without a 'credit' we put that in the system as 'uncredited'. (If it's published as by 'Anonymous' we use 'Anonymous'. Oh well. - Well, now we've got the right year on everything. I might note that you could have done this all in one submission. When editing the publication the dates for each story can be edited also. You do have to be careful if a story appears elsewhere in the system because in that case changing the date in one place will change the date in other places; no problem here since all but one entry did not appear elsewhere and that one had not been merged with its previous appearance. I also merged David Kopaska-Merkel's poem with it's previous appearance and changed the title of the introduction to "Introduction (Cover of Darkness May 2009)" so that it will be less generic. This gets into a little more complicated territory but I was about to apply the David Kopaska-Merkel pseuodnym to David C. Kopaska-Merkel's works when I noticed that on his website and on most of his recent works he uses David C. Kopaska-Merkel. Since pseuodnym relationships are hard to break I did not apply the pseudonym. Kevin was correct to regularize the names. In cases where you think unusual forms for names or titles may have been on purpose it's a good idea to make an entry in the notes section. Thanks.--swfritter 15:00, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
