The Colour of Magic

Hello, I've put your submission to add Vincente Segrelles as an artist on hold. In order to have it accepted, you'll need to provide more 'hard' data than "however the style is clearly that of Vicente Segrelles". Even if you're probably right, we need to have some evidence. Note also that such a change on a verified publication (in this case by Bluesman who is listed as Primary(Transient)) must be cleared with him beforehand. Hauck 15:35, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

Editing verified publications

Hi, and welcome. I accepted your submission adding artist credit to Battle Circle. When you edit a publication record that has Primary verifier(s), ISFDB practice is to notify those verifiers by leaving a note on their talk pages (or follow any instructions that may appear there). As a general rule, it is ok to submit additions and notify at the same time, but changes that alter data should be discussed before submitting them. I left a note about the addition of the artist credit for Hauck, who is the primary verifier, so just something for you to keep in mind for future edits.

By the way, if you have the book, please consider making yourself another primary verifier. Go to the above link and then pick "Verify This Pub" under Editing Tools at the left. Scroll down, and you should find Primary2 ... Primary5. Turn on Primary2, and you will be recorded.

Editing information in verified publications

Hi, I have on hold your submission that would change the spelling of the author's name on the Dec 2013 Asimov's. Although you edited the cover art title record instead of the magazine itself, this is still changing information in a publication that has been verified. So, as I mentioned above, what you need to do is ask the verifier MLB to confirm the spelling of the name. A very common source of error in the database is typo/mis-entry by our contributors, but if the artist is credited as the entry has it spelled, we would not change the name on the credit. Instead, we would make the record be a variant of one with the correct spelling. I will keep the submission on hold until you and MLB decide what the status is.
