Welcome!

Hello, Athryn, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 10:11, 29 June 2019 (EDT)

Cover Image Uploading

Cover image uploading is a two step process. Once you have uploaded a cover to the wiki, you need to click on the image (so you get just the image), copy that URL, and then edit the publication to add the URL to the publication. So for Image:HNDFKNVSLN2018.jpg, you need to enter this URL, in A Hand of Knaves. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 10:11, 29 June 2019 (EDT)

Thanks, it's been a while since I've done any wiki editing! Athryn 16:24, 30 June 2019 (EDT)

Tor.com, March 17, 2020

Hello,

We add editors to the Tor.com fiction only when they are specified in the story itself - usually for new fiction. The reprints are posted without editor so I removed Martin from here. I also merged the story with its other appearances and adding the series to the EDITOR record. Thanks for adding it. Annie 10:22, 1 March 2022 (EST)

Tor.com, February 22, 2022

Hello again,

When there is an illustration to a story in Tor.com (or other webzines), we threat is as an Interior art, not as Cover art. I fixed it here and removed the cover image (not a cover and even if it was, we cannot link to that image). Let me know if you have any questions. Annie 10:27, 1 March 2022 (EST)

The Last Truth

Hello,

Thanks for adding this one. We do not use the pages field for ebooks so I removed the value from the field. As it as already in the notes, that was the only needed change. Annie 18:45, 2 March 2022 (EST)

Tor.com, March 9, 2022

We already have this one so had to reject your attempt to add it again. Thanks! Annie 23:32, 11 March 2022 (EST)

Tor.com

I approved your three recent Tor.com webzine additions. Just two comments:

  • The URL to the webpage should go into the Pub Web Page field and not the Title Web Page field. This is because we combine magazine from the same year under a single title record. This means the Title Web Page field is not unique to a specific issue. I moved the ones for these three.
  • Best practice is to add the series (in this case Tor.com) when entering the magazine. While either way the title record has to be edited (or merged) after approval, having the series present in the entry lessons the chance of something going astray.

Thanks for entering these. -- JLaTondre (talk) 11:15, 8 October 2022 (EDT)

Thanks, I'm a little rusty on that --Athryn (talk) 15:56, 12 October 2022 (EDT)

Wild Things

I'm holding This submission. Shouldn't the series be 'Blue Magic'? John Scifibones 10:31, 28 October 2022 (EDT)

No, Blue Magic is a book in the Indigo Springs series [1], which Wild Things also takes place in. --Athryn (talk) 23:47, 28 October 2022 (EDT)
Okay, approved. John Scifibones 06:54, 29 October 2022 (EDT)
