Welcome!

Hello, Amlawal1, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -DES Talk 20:59, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

27th Century Fiasco

Please see What the ISFDB Wiki is not, where it says:

"The ISFDB Wiki should not be used for posting book reviews, whether favorable, unfavorable, or neutral in tone. It should not be used to publish advertisements or announcements of events, even if SF-related, such as conventions. It should not be used to publish advertisements for books or merchandise. ..."

The page 27th Century Fiasco seems to violate this policy. Therefore i am about to delete it, after adding any information into the regular database that I can. -DES Talk 21:10, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Note that the book's title record can be found here, and the publication record here. Please enter any corrected data you have, and verify the book if you have a copy. -DES Talk 21:19, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Bio:Akintunde M. Lawal

I moved this. The ISFDB standardizes initials by using a period after them. I also added a link to the db record for the novel, and removed the promotional content. The ISFDB wiki is not a place for posting book blurbs or reviews, see above.

I also deleted the page Akintunde M Lawal as it was in the wrong namespace and redundant with the Bio: page. -DES Talk 23:49, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Author:Akintunde M. Lawal

You added this page. it is essentially a blurb, for a boook already in the database. it ignores Help:Contents/Purpose which says:

"The "Author:" pages of the ISFDB Wiki are not for recording biographies of authors. They are for bibliographic notes about the work of an author (or artist), and for discussing how that work should be recorded in the ISFDB."

It also ignores What the ISFDB Wiki is not, where it says:

"The ISFDB Wiki should not be used for posting book reviews, whether favorable, unfavorable, or neutral in tone. It should not be used to publish advertisements or announcements of events, even if SF-related, such as conventions. It should not be used to publish advertisements for books or merchandise. ..."

This is the third time you have posted essentially the same blurb, on different pages. Two of the pages have been promptly deleted, the third edited to remove the blurb. Please stop trying to post blurbs on this site. -DES Talk 16:39, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
