I'm still waiting for the blockbuster version of the romance of Gilgamesh and Enkidu.

Not just [research materials] or [guys in director chairs reading lecture papers] but at least PG-13 wrassin' scene material. At least ['toons] are starting to catch on.

The basic plot line is pretty much sf but it could be reworked again. Hey, weren't Brokeback, Contracorrente and Philomenia all linked by a "two men fall in love and one dies" plot line? Not to mention David and Johnathan. Any new work would also need the "establish pecking order in a physical way early" element.
