Publication series

I added a section on these, as their wiki pages are bibliographic comment pages, just not ones that (currently) link to the DB. That way we can link to this page from {{PubSeriesHeader}} also, and can change the text when and if the ISFDB supports Pub Series records. -DES Talk 15:02, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

It seemed the Publication Series section had a lot of detail about publication series and not bibliographic comments and so I moved it over to the Publication Series page. --Marc Kupper|talk 08:43, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I really want it on this page, so that this page can also be linked from {{PubSeriesHeader}} adn also because pages about them in many cases are bibliographic comment pages. I will re-add a shortened version. -DES Talk 15:24, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Biographies

While Bio: pages are not bibliographic comment pages, they are similar. Also, since we want to tell people that bios don't belong on author pages, it is helpful to indicate where they do belong. So I added this section to the page. -DES Talk 15:12, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

That seems fine. We already said bios don't belong have having that section will hopefully let people know that the same conventions/rules used for bibliographic comment pages also apply to the bio pages. --Marc Kupper|talk 08:49, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
That is the idea. -DES Talk 15:34, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Magazine pages

I intend to add a short section about magazine wiki pages, because these are also a form of bibliographic comment pages. -DES Talk 16:14, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I know there's a magazine category, but, as far as I know, there is no index, and the individual pages are only reached through the Magazines page. Or am I overlooking it? Thanks. MHHutchins 22:50, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Also, slightly off-topic, when I click on the categories list from the special pages index, I get a list of all the pages. Is there a list of all the categories? Also there must be a page that lists all the templates. I just can't find it. MHHutchins 22:50, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
The Magazines page is the index to the various magazine wiki pages. As far as i know, there is not a magazine category. -DES Talk 23:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Special:Categories is the list of all currently defined categories. There are more than you might think. To see all pages in the template namespace, go to Special:Allpages and select "template" in the pulldown and click GO. To see a list of commonly used templates, look at Help:List of ISFDB Templates To Traverse the list of categories in a tree, look at Category:Categories, and follow links. -DES Talk 23:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Those last two links were what I was looking for. About the absence of a Magazine category, I may have confused categories with sub-domains, or something like that. You can see when it comes to how Wikis are organized I'm rather green. Do you know of any tutorial that explains things in layman's terms? Thanks. MHHutchins 00:19, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Never mind, just found the Wiki help pages. MHHutchins 14:58, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
