Per a discussion at the 2013 North American Discworld Convention with Dennis Pelton of The Lookout Mountain Bookstore, the dust-jackets for the collectors edition were printed before the books were ready and several copies of an earlier printing were issued with these jackets which have a different ISBN. The earlier edition was published with red boards whereas the collectors edition has black boards. However, our dates don't seem to fit with this anecdote with the collectors edition dated August 1998 and a verified copy with the mismatched jacket dated July 1999.
