Valjeanne Jeffers is a graduate of Spelman College; North Carolina Central University, and a member of the Carolina African American Writers' Collective (CAAWC).

She has been published in Genesis: An Anthology of Black Science Fiction; Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology; LuneWing; Liberated Muse: How I Freed My Soul; The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South; Pembroke Magazine Volume 39; Revelry; PurpleMag numbers 7, 8 and 9; Drumvoices Revue Volumes 15 and 16; The Obamas: Portrait of America's New First Family; and Genesis Science Fiction Magazine Issue 1 & 2. She has also published the non-fiction book "The Story of Eve". She was the 2007 semifinalist for the Rita Dove Poetry Award and the recipient of the EDC Creations 2009 Best Fiction Award. She works as an editor for Mocha Memoirs Press and is co-owner of Q & V Affordable Editing.
