Sarah Ash (b. 1950) was born in Bath, Somerset. She trained as a musician and studied composition at Cambridge, since when she had taught music and collaborated on several theatre pieces for young performers, including Space Out!, a 1960s space opera based on the legend of Psyche. She made her short fiction début in Far Point IV in 1992, and her stories have subsequently appeared in Interzone and Best New Horror 4. Her first novel, Moths to a Flame, appeared in 1995 and was followed a year later by Songspinners.
