Born 28 May 1947 Bulawayo, Zimbabawe, then Southern Rhodesia. Parents Stanley Henry Kryszek (born Poland 14 November 1917 died Indianapolis 1982) and Monica Margaret (nee Renner) (born Kent, England December 1919, died Malawi, then Nyasaland, 15 March 1951). Has lived in Canada since 1954. Married 25 November 1967 to Donald Fredrick Chard (born Tangier, Nova Scotia 17 September 1942, son of William Hooper Chard and Florence May Pope (nee Cornick)Chard). Daughter: Diana Margaret (born 17 April 1978). Sons: Brendan Donald (born 9 April 1981) and Jacob Norman (born 14 April 1984). Educated at Edgehill School for Girls, Windsor Nova Scotia (grad., 1964). University of King's College, Halifax, Nova Scotia (B.A. hons English 1968). Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario (M.A. English Literature, thesis on fiction of C.S. Lewis, 1972). Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia (M.L.S. 1972). Formerly employed by Halifax Public Libraries, Alderney Gate branch, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Retired.
