Locus1 claims that Marella Sands is a pseudonym for "Martha Pigg (1966- )". On Marella's web site, she lists books written by her under two names: Marella Sands and Martha Kneib. In her bio says "... I was now an Alternate Historian." In that link, she says of herself:

Martha Kneib (Marella Sands) - author of non-fiction books under her own name, and science fiction/fantasy under the name Marella Sands. Also wrote three Self Help Writing Guides, which can be found online. One-half of the writing team Kenyon Morr, which published two King's Quest books in the 1990s.

Thus we can conclude that her true name is Martha Kneib. A Google search found that Martha Kneib, on a genealogy web site, posted a question asking about "William VanDyke Pigg, Sr.". From this, and the pseudonym listed by Locus1, it seems very likely that her maiden name was Martha Pigg, but she has changed her name (possibly due to marriage) to Martha Kneib.

Several web sites, including Wikipedia, note that "Kenyon Morr" is a pseudonym used for the writing team of Marella Sands & Mark Sumner.
