According to page 165 of Jane Frank's "Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists of the Twentieth Century: A Biographical Dictionary", this artist fits the profile of Roger Davis. According to page 394, he may have also been active as "John Richards" in 1952-1956 and possibly later. However, the identification is not definite. This SFE3 article on Authentic Science Fiction magazine confirms that John Richards, the art director, created the pseudonym "Davis" to credit his own work when used for the cover and interior art.
